How do you increase data transfer rate in xp

You can make a couple of tweaks. First, go to Start/My Computer/Properties/Hardware/Device Manager, and scroll down to Ports. Open that link and double click on Communications Port (Com1). Open the tab "Port Settings"and change the bit rate from 9600 to a full 128,000. Do the same for (Com2). Close. Then download a nifty little device from SpeedGuide.net/downloads called TCP Optimizer. Follow the instructions and optimize your settings. Hope that helps.
